Nexus, along with the prestigious Autonomous University of Barcelona, has started two different summer courses to live an unforgettable experience in Barcelona. They are mainly for students, professionals and gastronomy, hospitality and tourism lovers

“Learn and enjoy”
programme:
We offer you the opportunity to learn in your expertise areas, while you discover one of the most thrilling cities in Europe. A remarkable experience at the capital of the Mediterranean.
The “learn and enjoy” programme offers a total of 48 hours to do in two weeks, Monday through Friday. The courses are complemented by cultural activities and leisure.
Depending on the course you choose, the classes will be imparted either on the morning or the afternoon.
In gastronomy, we can offer:
- Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine.
- Patisserie, confectionery and new baking techniques.
- The world of wine tasting and pairing.
In the hospitality sector:
- Revenue management (on a basic level) and community manager focused on hospitality.
- The importance of catering in event organisation.
- Hotel and tourist security.
“Michelin experience”
programme:
If you are a Gastronomy student, and you wish to learn new techniques and learn along prestigious chefs, this programme is a great opportunity. Furthermore, we offer the possibility to do it in Barcelona, a truly inspiring city, specially in the summer. The programme offers a great variety of activities to make the most out of the city and it’s culinary culture.
The “Michelin experience” programme, offers courses of 48 hours to be distributed over 2 weeks, Monday to Friday. Afterwards, an internship of up to TWO MONTHS is carried out at a restaurant with a Michelin-star chef.
The course commences halfway through June, and once the classes are over, you will start the placement immediately. The whole experience ends by the end of August.
The different courses the offer in this programme are:
- Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine.
- Confectionery, patisserie, and new baking techniques.
Application requirements:
The only requirement to apply for the “Learn and Enjoy” programme is to be 18 years old or over and have some knowledge in the hotel management, tourism or gastronomy, according to the area selected for the course.
For the “Michelin experience” it is compulsory to be studying a degree in gastronomy, since an agreement must be signed with your university to carry out the internship.

What do these fees cover?
- 48h course at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
- Transport to and from the airport.
- Daily transport.
- Spanish SIM card.
- Accomodation.
- Cultural, gastronomic and leisure activities.
- Internship in a Michelin-star restaurant (Only in the “Michelin Experience” programme).
What is not included:
- Airplane tickets.
- Meals. However, we do offer restaurant cheques for a small additional cost. Please contact us for more information.
